Korgaan's Fury

Korgaan's favoured sons ranked up, their weapons glinting in the frosty early morning sunlight. While winter, the day looked to be clear and bright, and the faint puffs of condensation from their breath wafting out of their helmets gave them the look of infernal beasts. A not unfitting appearance.

They weren't here for the Vampire and his territory. They were instead a raiding force, scouting ahead of their main forces, looking for signs of the abyss, to once more plot a Reckoning. To find out if, indeed, the Wicked Ones needed to be Reckoned with. Yet scouting forward they decided that a certain patch of land, the abandoned ruins of a barely settled village, would make a good staging point. But this village was within the Vampire Lord's domain, and no such stake to his kingdom would he allow.

The undead line pushed forwards towards the bloodthirsty warriors, the Revenant Lord Charnel and his winged undead wyrm mount Plaguewind once more taking the field in the Vampire Lord's stead.

The Varangur strode out to greet them, tempering their fury with some tactical positioning around the scenery.

On the left flank, the wraiths coordinated a strike with the werewolves, lead by their mighty Lykanis Shadow Stalker.

On the undead's right flank the evil cavalry poured into the zombie trolls and skeleton spearmen.

The wights engage head-on with some Sons of Korgaan, while the zombie horde delays another unit.

The cowardly ghouls trip over themselves hiding behind a hill, holding their position.

The centre grinds on, with the Sons and wights trading blows back and forth, with the Lord Charnel positioning himself in the backfield.

Eventually the zombies perish, but so do the wights' opponents. The heavily wounded wights roll in to take on the Sons that defeated the zombies.

The assault from the cavalry of Korgaan on the undead's right flank fell apart unexpectedly, and when Lord Charnel joined in, they were unable to hang on.

The ghouls enjoy the sounds of slaughter over the hill.

The wights could not sustain further damage, and crumbled in the face of Korgaan's fury. The sons themselves took massive damage, but held true. Although, surrounded by enemies their fate did not look promising.....

Dominate or Control scenario, I forget which, against Mark W's Varangur at 3D6 games store. I think I won, but to be honest I'm not 100% sure. Control would explain why I left the ghouls out of the fray on one side. This game was in September 2016, and it's taken me 3 months to get around to writing it up so I am mostly running off the photos to jog my memory.
